What is a Guardian Family?
Our Guardian Family Program provides the opportunity for a family to have a breeding quality, pick of the litter Australian Labradoodle puppy at a significantly reduced price.
Our guardian dogs live in your home as your family pet and forever companion, while we retain the breeding rights for the dog.
The litters are whelped in our home and the mother dog stays with us until the puppies are weaned. Most of our dogs retire after a certain number of litters or by age six.
Once a dog is retired from breeding, we pay for the cost of the spay/neuter and full ownership of the dog is transferred to the guardian family.
To participate in our guardian family program, we require a deposit of $800. The Guardian Family will be reimbursed by Red Desert Doodles when the guardian dog is used for breeding as follows:
-
Guardians of males will be compensated $100 per litter that the dog sires.
-
Guardians of females will be compensated $200 per litter that the dog whelps.
Why do we offer the Guardian Family Program?

1. The Dog - Our Guardian Family Program allows us to have our breeding dogs raised in a loving home environment and not in a kennel. We believe that all dogs should be raised in a loving home where they will receive the daily love and nurturing that they deserve.

2. The Guardian Family - The guardian family has the opportunity to love, enjoy, and care for a pick of the litter, breeding quality Australian Labradoodle at a significantly reduced cost. Our regular adoption fee of $3,200 is reduced to $800 for a guardian dog in exchange for the guardian family caring for one of our breeding dogs. The breeding dog will spend a short amount of it's life in our breeding program. Once the guardian dog is retired from breeding, Red Desert Doodles will pay the cost of the spay/neuter and transfer full ownership of the dog to the guardian family. As a guardian family, you get the very best dog that Red Desert Doodles has to offer.

3. Red Desert Doodles - As a breeder, we can only keep so many dogs in our home. The Guardian Family Program benefits Red Desert Doodles by allowing us to have our breeding dogs raised and socialized in a loving home where they will get the daily love and attention that they deserve and need.
